Using Spotlight on iOS (latest OS) or MacOS (Tahoe 26.5.2) to search for a flight code has for the last week or so, resulted with no result of the flight path and other details. After loading (spinning cog) for a few moments, the result is CONTENT NOT AVAILABLE.
The abridged information shows … but not the expanded view which has a graphic of the flight path and a bit more colour etc.
Are others experiencing the same result?
Can anyone replicate the same “error” on their devices? Or is it working just fine for you?
To test, using spotlight put in any flight code (I used QF1, see screenshot) and then press return to get the flight route picture (which is the part I now can’t see).
I can see the full details (flight map, etc), when connected from northeast US. Is it possibly a network/VPN issue?
Thanks Chuck. Good to know it’s working for you (and others I assume). But no VPN in use and I’ve used both mobile phone tower network and broadband fibre connection, all to no avail.
I’ll explore more and report back if I find out anything worthwhile. ![]()
I never use Siri for this (or for much else, at least for now), but it also works fine for me on iOS 26.5.2.
Works fine for me.
iOS 26.5.2
I get the short version of flight info after typing a flight number into the search box. The extended version requires a tap.
ETA: the above applies to what happens without pressing
on the keyboard. When I hit
after typing a flight number, the full flight tracking results, with map, appear.
I use dedicated apps for that. But I was curious to check nevertheless.
On my iPhone works as expected. On Tahoe, nothing. Turns out, there’s a specific Spotlight toggle that needs to be enabled to get flight info to show and it’s not really labeled as such.
Settings > Spotlight > Show Related Content
Thanks all for the suggestions and information. I did have Spotlight>Show Related Content “on”.
Still to no avail, sadly.
I will wait and see what the next OS update reveals.
btw, all the other stuff works in Spotlight such as calculations, USD conversions etc etc. Just the flight path graphic etc.
Unrelated, but perhaps still worthy of pointing out: calculations and currency conversion do not require Show Related Content being on. Calculations and currency conversion are both courtesy of Spotlight’s Calculator service (separate toggle).
