Odd Problem with App Store.ipa on iPad mini 5

iPadOS 18.7.3 installed.

The badge showing available updated reads +5 but when launched, it shows the actual number of updates. For example with 3 updates the badge shows 8 and of course with 0 updates, the badge shows 5! However, on my iPad Mini 7 & iPhone 12 with both also running 18.7.3, the badge on the app displays the correct number of updates. I checked the apps list but didn’t see a “hidden” apps area like there is on the Mac App Store.

Anyone have an idea what I should look for to fix this?

Well, the problem persisted. However, while today it showed 11 updates waiting, when I went to do the updates there WERE actually 11, not the 6 I expected. And after they were done, the red dot on the App Store.ipa on the home page was gone! The only thing I did today that was different from before, was my weekly sync of the iPad Mini 5 with iTunes 12.8.3.1 on my iMac.
