because I’ve never seen it before.
Last night over dinner , we were playing music from one of the macs through the AppleTV and homepods.
It’s always on shuffle so we never know what will come up.
I happened to glance at the TV while a track from Jean-Luc Ponty’s Fables album was playing.
This is the album cover.
On the TV, J-L P’s image was animated. He was bowing the violin!
I’ve had a quick look this morning to see if any others are animated, so far only this one.
no, not new. Many album covers are animated in some way when played through the AppleTV interface. Some are more adventurous, some are slightly irritating, some are subtle, and more obscure LPs have no animation (yet). I think it is a fun feature.
Try playing an album from Apple’s top 100 for instance. Or I noticed Bob Marley’s, “Catch a Fire” smokes a spliff…or The Beatles, “Revolver”…etc
I noticed an Animated Art setting in Music > Settings > Advanced > Accessibility today [macOS 27.2 Golden Gate]:
“Playlist, album, and artist pages, album art in now playing, and other animated cover art will automatically play.”
