Still displaying like this.
Do you mean that’s what it shows while playing?
Apple software has gotten more and more buggy over time, as we know… ![]()
Playing or not.
Not the only unfixed bug. Before macOS 26 the Music app would show the details of music being streamed, e.g., from an Internet radio station. That stopped with Tahoe and hasn’t been fixed in Golden Gate. As jsabini said Apple software gets buggier with time while Apple keeps adding features with minimal value.
you’re not just whistling dixie, not only buggier software but not the same support I’ve experienced over the past decades. When I did the GG update, it wiped out all my various flagged emails in Mail. Had a very contentious call with them, it ended up with them telling me I had to contact Bombich because I used it to back up (that was from a sr. advisor)! It turned out that searching on “flagged” yielded nothing, BUT in scrolling through a mailbox I discovered that WERE some emails that were flagged. Once they became visible there, they went into my Flagged “folder.”
At least I got to them them a piece of my mind in the survey request I got.
You can still install iTunes using the now updated Retroactive 3 app:
Although this has been possible for some time as referenced in another thread, this newer version makes the code signing issue disappear. You do have to give Retroactive 3 permission to run in the Privacy and Security settings.
All versions of iTunes I’ve used have always displayed track information from a streaming station assuming it’s properly formatted which most seem to be. So far, I’ve found 12.6.5 to be the most stable and the Internet Radio function still works where earlier versions such as 10.7 or 11.4 have lost that capability.
Looked into it… the GitHub. page says iTunes will no longer work because of Rosetta being deprecated (macOS 28). Does this mean we have to run the winbowz version of itunes (I was going to ask how to get the last macOS release of it)?
As for my issues with flagged email being deleted in 27, I now notice that they have all mysteriously returned. They were always there but the app didn’t see them. Saw a post saying it will take days and days to rebuild databases. Why the hell is a M4 chi not capable of doing that a lot quicker? Anyway, I did try the rebuild command and it did nothing. Said apple support had no ideas why the rebuild command didn’t do anytnng.AND even the senior support specialist had no clue what was happening.
While Rosetta is not going to be available in the next OS release entirely, you can always run iTunes in a virtual machine using something like UTM or have a dual boot setup as I have where I’m keeping my Sequoia partition for the long term to run Intel apps and the other partition will contain the newer OS which at the moment is Golden Gate.
