Wormy Apple: sporadic Apple Card payment notification email

So this is an odd one: did you know you cannot turn off those pesky emails you get telling you for a third time (after initiating the payment and confirming with FaceID first and then getting a notification confirmation on top of that) that you just made a payment to your Apple Card?

In fact, there exists nowhere an option to turn that off and both an Apple rep and a GS rep confirmed they cannot even turn that off for you on their end.

But here’s the real wormy Apple part: these emails only go out sporadically. In my case I get one for about every third AC payment I make. No discernible pattern. My wife, gets perhaps one in 10. A friend of mine gets every single one. Go figure.

There’s more worms in the Apple Pay apple. Daily cash arrives daily which is great. Not so great is that Apple only notifies about it over a day late.

If daily cash gets credited at 6am today, it can be spent or transferred to a bank account immediately, which is again great. But when do you get a notification about that daily cash coming in? Not until next day around 9am. This is not a Wallet issue — Apple Card notifications come in fairly prompt (at times credits show a minor delay, charges are usually prompt) and do not show any such 24-hr delay. Also notifications about charges to (or transfers away from) Apple Cash are prompt so it’s specific to daily cash credits.

Now perhaps there’s some bigger issue preventing more timely notification of Apple cash credits, but then Apple should consider if such late notification serves any purpose at all. If I have already spent the funds (or transferred them to a bank account) after their 6 am credit, say around 10am, what purpose does a late notification the next day at 9am serve?

It’s late and a bit sloppy — not supporting the user, instead just injecting unnecessary noise. Wormy Apple.
