That has never happened to me. Could it be your iCloud sync is off? I’ve been having a lot of troubles with my iCloud, not synching but just weird behavior. I hope it works out for you. There is a discussion on iCloud that was recent on TidBITS Talk. I don’t have the link right now. Good luck.

I sync masses of stuff with iCloud and it is all working OK. So a puzzle.

Which reminds me that Quicksilver includes clipboard history and other features too. I use Quicksilver but have never used the clipboard stuff it offers as I’m happy (and used to!) CopyLess 2, but if you use Quicksilver or want a free clipboard app that also includes launching and other stuff, Quicksilver may be worth a look.

To reiterate a recommendation I probably made years ago above, I can’t recommend Pastebot enough. Have been using it for years and it is an excellent piece of software, rock solid, easy to use and also has lots of options and advanced features.

I also use Pastebot.
I have only two issues with it:
- I’d like to exclude Pastebot’s copy history from Time Machine backups (Exclude files from a Time Machine backup on Mac - Apple Support ), but despite several email inquiries, I don’t know where it is stored; and
- There is no way to pin frequently used paste scraps.

Thanks. I’ve looked at that one, as well as all the other apps mentioned here. None of them do quite what I want. Paste takes a huge amount of screen real estate and seems aimed at images. I’m mostly clipping bits of text.
Not sure what you mean. Paste uses no screen real estate at all unless you call it up, and then only a small window. It’s also not “aimed at images”. I use it mostly for text snippets and blocks of text, but images, links, etc… as well. Are you sure you’re looking at the same app I referred to?
Maybe not! I looked at so many, and they have such similar names 
I just looked at their website again. It does indeed take up a huge amount of room although all the samples are images, so maybe that’s why. More features than I want. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Those are just images on their website for purposes of example. I’m saying I actually use the app and it doesn’t take up a lot of screen area at all, and in fact stays hidden unless you bring it to the front for the few seconds you may need to do something in it.
I’m not trying to “sell” it to you, and maybe it isn’t for you for other reasons, but I think it’s important to be accurate when describing an app’s features, or lack thereof, in a public forum.
