Flying Meat has released version 2.4 of its Retrobatch bulk image processing utility with a few new features. The new Extract Scanned Images node detects and extracts individual images from a combined scan, while the PDF Password node can add or remove a password from a PDF (Pro license required). The new PDF Maker node gives you the option to create a new PDF for each unique file name it encounters, enabling you to feed multiple PDFs into the app, split each page, process them, and then combine the pages back into PDFs with their original names.
The update also improves the Rules node with more breathing room for numeric input fields, adjusts the Read Individual Files and Read Folder nodes to store the location of files and folders as relative to the document, adds new Destination In and Destination Out blend modes, addresses a problem where images from the PDF Image Extractor node were not written correctly, ensures thumbnails for images coming from the Photos Export node display correctly, and fixes a bug where exporting RAW files out of Photos and then converting them to HEIC files wouldn’t work correctly. Version 2.4.1 was issued to add AVIF Encoding in the Write node for those running macOS 26 Tahoe or later.
