I’ve used the Add to Home Screen function to add a dedicated web app for a news website on both my Studio and my iPad.
When someone sends me a link in iMessage to a story on that website:
- on the Studio I click the link, it opens in Safari and in Safari a banner appears at the top of the page giving the option to open the web app.
- on the iPad I click the link, it opens in Safari but no option to open in the web app appears.
Does anyone know whether there’s a setting I need to tweak on the iPad or is that ability simply not possible on an iPad (iPadOS 26.5)?
