How long does Spotlight reindexing take in the iOS 27 Dev Beta?

I’ve been doing extensive reading about the Golden Gate release and there are fragmentary reports of the indexing taking days and days. I have no personal experience 'cause I don’t do developer betas any more since I’m no longer developing but I have to admit I’m tempted because this sounds like a lot of fun.

Five days seems excessive, though. Do you have brobdingnagian amounts of old emails? Keep decades of messages forever? 4TB of photos?

I have found in Apple News, the following article by Marcus Mendes (Jun. 15th 2026 4:57 pm) from 9T5Mac:
“Connect your iPhone to your Mac

On your Mac, open the Console app

In the Action menu, make sure the “Include Debug Messages” option is activated

Select your iPhone in the sidebar

In the search field, on the top right, search for: spotlight indexing progress

Click on the “Start” button

On your iPhone, open Settings

Your indexing progress should start to appear as: PipelineCompleteness: XX%.

Excerpt From

“Still seeing ‘Indexing in Progress’ on iOS 27? Here’s how to check the actual status”

9to5Mac

Check out the steps he outlines which use Console: (They work for me, though I had to modify the steps slightly.)

My iPhone 15 Pro Max is at 95% BTW, up from 93.4% last evening. Slow, but persistent … and has taken over a week so far …
