Apple Support pages for the Apple TV device mention that the number of Aerial (aerial view) screen savers that can be stored on the Apple TV is limited by the available storage space on the unit.
I’ve got an 3rd generation Apple TV 4K (2022) – the 128 GB model with the ethernet port. For the last couple years, I’ve been able to store about 35 of the aerial screen savers on my unit. (You can count the number of screen savers currently stored: rotate through all the screen savers when they’re being displayed, counting them until the first one is displayed again.)
Since upgrading to tvOS 27.x (currently at 27.2 – I’m not sure whether this issue started with 27.0, or later), I’ve only been able to store 15 aerial screen savers on the Apple TV device.
Since I haven’t changed the number of tvOS apps stored on the device since switching to tvOS 27.x (I’ve got 8 – haven’t changed them in years), I’m assuming something in tvOS 27.x has eaten up significant storage space.
Anyone else seen this situation? Or know what happened with tvOS 27.x that might explain this? Or know of something else that might be eating up storage space on the Apple TV?
Obviously not a critical problem; but I am curious as to what’s going on. Thank you in advance.
