Anyone using 'undo' features of Apple Dictation?

I’ve injured my right wrist, so I find I have very limited ability to type. I’ve been trying to use Apple Dictation, which is available on Macs, iPads and iPhones. All these are amazingly accurate at correctly interpreting my voice, including commands like “open curly bracket” and “new line”, but there’s one big problem - for me, the ‘undo’ features just don’t work. I mean, you’re supposed to be able to say stuff lie “delete last word”, ut for all my devices, this is just treated as more dictation, not a command.

Has anyone else had this experience? I haven’t had much help from Apple Discussions.

I think you need Voice Control (Settings > Accessibility), not Dictation, to able to do any editing at all. You can have both active at the same time on the iPhone, but not on the Mac, where it’s one or the other.

In theory, you shouldn’t need Dictation along with Voice Control, but I’ve seen wonky results on the iPhone in recent years with trying to dictate using just Voice Control.
