iOS dictation continues to mystify

After reaching extreme levels of exasperation, I feel I have no choice but to reopen this discussion.

My iPhone is on 26. 6.1. This morning I was dictating a reply on WhatsApp about house decoration, and it consistently rendered the word ‘painter’ as ‘(Painter)’.

WHY??

You might have a contact card with Painter capitalized.

Happens to me all the time. “pain” > “Payne” etc. Everyone says the new Siri AI in OS 27 fixes dictation
