SoundSource 6.0.6

Rogue Amoeba has released SoundSource 6.0.6, bringing enhanced Head Tracking compatibility to AirPods and Beats headphones. The audio control utility now temporarily deactivates the Head Tracked spatial audio setting when routing audio to AirPods and some Beats headphones. The update also better maintains a custom Preferred Device Order when AirPods or Beats headphones are connected, makes several improvements to the volume overlay (such as centering on the display when shown over a full-screen app, instead of the top-right corner), ensures sharing audio on a Zoom call works as expected, improves battery level display accuracy for Bluetooth devices, and resolves a crash that occurred when switching tabs in the Settings window in macOS 15 Sequoia. I’m in a constant struggle to decide whether to use SoundSource or BOOM 3D as my primary sound enhancer. Usually BOOM 3D wins. This is only because SoundSource requires much more attention to set up and to use. For ideal function preferences for each app using sound, they must be set. With BOOM, that specificity is possible but not necessary for overall sound enhancement. When I don’t want to tinker, I use BOOM; if I want to enhance the sound output in specific apps, it’s SoundSource. Such a quandary. Two fine apps for my iMac. :star_struck:
