Rogue Amoeba has bundled dozens of refinements and bug fixes into version 6.1 of its SoundSource audio control utility. The release updates the volume indicator pips in the menu bar (from three dots to four bars), makes multiple changes to reduce Bluetooth glitches and dropouts, updates device iconography for several Apple and Beats devices, fine-tunes the audio-handling ARK plug-in (now version 13.5) to reduce CPU usage and latency, ensures AirPlay devices reconnect more reliably after waking the Mac from sleep, eliminates crackles and other unwanted artifacts in game audio playback when in macOS Game Mode, enables you to adjust volume and effect sliders within SoundSource via scrollwheel or trackpad, improves handling of multi-channel audio formats, improves the speed of VoiceOver navigation when moving through large lists, and makes several corrections to Shortcuts.
