Short-lived account sign-in

Can anyone explain this, please?
I have online accounts with two UK-based news organisations, which I access using Safari synced between an iMac, an iPad and two iPhones (11 and 13). Latest OS on all of them.

On the iMac, after signing into both accounts initially, I’ve never had to do so again.

On the iPhones, both accounts soon get forgotten and I have to sign in as though for the first time. The sign-in may last a few hours or even a day or more, but it’s variable and unpredictable. This happens only when using Safari – Firefox on the iPhones remembers my accounts indefinitely.

I contacted both organisations for advice. One of them suggested turning off any content blocker (I use Crystal) and clearing website data, which I did, but neither solved the problem. Any ideas?

My first response would be to try clearing all of the site’s cookies – sometimes they can have data that no longer works with the current website code – but you already tried that.

Try turning off Prevent cross-site tracking in Settings > Apps > Safari > Privacy & Security, to see if that’s the culprit.

Well, it was on, and I’ve just turned it off. It’ll take a while before I know if it works. Thanks.
