On iPadOS and iOS 26 it is easy to set a separate time zone for the start and end time of a calendar event in the standard Calendar app. This is great for flights that cross time zones. However, I cannot figure out how to do that on my mac, which is still running macOS 15. macOS Calendar seems to allow specifying only one time zone, which is used for both start and end times.
Is this something that was added in macOS 26 or 27? If not, is there some way to do this on macOS?
You cannot do it on Mac. The workaround is to set up the calendar item on iOS. The Mac Calendar will then correctly show the entry with the proper start/end times as defined in iOS. So it will display correctly, but you cannot set it up that way. I have no idea what the thinking there was. Hopefully macOS 27 will fix that.
If you’re using the macOS Calendar app to sync to an external calendar source, you can use that source’s editor. I know, for example, that Google Calendar supports separate start/end time zones in its web interface.
Sadly, the iCloud web interface to Calendar doesn’t have this support, so that workaround isn’t available if you want to use Apple’s back-end.

I forgot to add that I usually do set up entries on the Mac Calendar.app, either via iCloud calendar for personal stuff or via Google calendar for work stuff. And then, I hop on over to the iPhone that has managed to sync up the new events so I can then modify the times to include different time zones where necessary on iOS. The Mac will then sync immediately (or at least it should) and from then on will reflect the right times/dates.

Thank you. I did check it out (after finding that Fantastical does not support differing start and end time zones). I am pleased to see that BusyCal has a menu bar app that runs separately from its main calendar app (unlike Fantastical after version 2, alas). I was less pleased to find that I could not edit event details using the menu bar app (it redirects to the main app). Still…it may be worth the potential confusion of having two different calendar (non-menu-bar) apps. The cost is quite reasonable.
