Running Firefox on older versions of macOS

David, I use Firefox-Dynasty 143.0.3 for TidBITS Talk. You can get it here:

https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/firefox-dynasty-1470

Dennis, I tried that and got this: a 404

Strange. This is what I get when I use the link in Brave, Firefox-Dynasty, LibreWolf, and Vivaldi:

What browser did you use?

Firefox:

@tpd , @romad , your screenshots show two different urls, not sure if that is a factor. Or is the github page the result of one of the download links in the green column on Macintosh Garden..?

Yep, it was when Firefox ESE 115 broke on TidBITS Talk, that I went to Firefox-Dynasty based, IIRC, on a post here. I could still at least read posts; just wasn’t allowed to post.

Firefox Dynasty is not being updated anymore, as far as I know. There is a Firefox variant called Momiji that seems to still be getting updates.

The problem is that i3roly got his GitHub account shutdown, taking with it the Firefox Dynasty project.

Another person has been working on taking over that project. Here’s a MacRumors thread about it.

His project is Momiji. It is tracking the latest Firefox ESR releases. I haven’t tried it, but its latest release is 140.10.0esr (released by Mozilla on April 20, 2026), and a beta release of 140.11.0esr (released by Mozilla on May 18, 2026). So there’s a bit of a lag, but it’s probably the best you’re going to do on an older Mac.

Unfortunately David, ALL versions of Firefox ESR starting with version 115 broke with TidBITS Talk for me as my iMac is maxed out at MacOS 10.13.6. Firefox-Dynasty 143 is the only browser that will work here under MacOS 10.13.6. I’m hoping to get an iMac that will allow 10.15.6 to run on it because Firefox ESR 140 will run on that MacOS and still let me come here. I’ll check out Momiji though.

This is useful information but can I suggest the OP/Adam changes the title to something like
