sigh. The saga continues.
Today, Apple dropped the update to macOS 15.4. Suspecting that there might be a problem, I completed two backups (CCC and TM) before the upgrade.
And sure enough, the kernel panic problem returned. Boot the computer, wait a few minutes doing nothing, and kernel panic. Happened twice.
So I’m wiping the SSD again, and migrating from my backup to what I hope is a clean install of 15.4.
And at this point, once I confirm that the system is stable, I will not try upgrading it again. I can only think of two reasons for this:
- Apple isn’t testing their updates very thoroughly on Intel Macs
- I’ve got a hardware problem.
Either way, I think it’s time to replace the computer, which is something I really did not want to be doing at this time.
