New Tahoe HID mouse bug is driving me crazy

A few weeks ago, after a Tahoe upgrade, I noticed my Logitech G203 LightSync mouse was double-clicking almost every time I single clicked on the primary mouse button. I checked with Claude and it said it was a known Tahoe bug, but that Apple insisted it was something the third-party HID drivers like Logitech G HUB needed to fix.

I got tired of waiting for Logitech to fix it, so I finally took Claude’s advice and got rid of Logitech G HUB in favor of Mac Mouse Fix. I like it. It is small and elegant and works great for giving me a programmable third mouse button. But it did NOT fix this double-clicking bug.

I swear it is going to drive me nuts. Is anyone else experiencing this bug? Any suggestions (and no, I don’t want to switch to an Apple Magic Mouse as it has no third button).

Double-clicks are a symptom of the click sensor wearing out, and seems to be endemic to Logitech mice. I use up the clicks in a year or two.

I have a Logitech Marble Mouse that, as @mschmitt says, developed a double-click habit a few months ago. It has several years of use.

I had no idea! Claude kept telling me it was a known Tahoe bug. But I have a second identical Logitech mouse that I use for travel, so thanks to your advice, I just switched it with the one I use (much more heavily) on my desktop and — voila! — problem solved. THANK YOU!

Does Claude provide a reference for that? I put the question about Logitech mice problems with Tahoe to the AI version of the Kagi browser. The browser produced a summary of various issues, with a footnote providing a link to the source of each statement. It then provided several links, including this one from January 2026:

Never take the word of AI without checking its references. No references? Forget it.

I have never heard of such a “Tahoe bug” and I’ve been using it since almost day 1.

I wonder what the origin was for that Claude slop. Probably its assumption that you were looking for a bug and a fix to it. So it “kindly” invented a bug for you and now you’re expected to like it and pay Anthropic lots of money. :wink:
