Two weird things noticed recently, and a question if anyone knows, have not so far found online solutions, maybe having a bad keyword day…
MacOS 26.4.1, Mail Version 16.0 (3864.500.181).
Weirdities:
- three-finger tap to define a word no longer works. Used to, say, a month ago on earlier Tahoe flavor. Two finger and choose Look Up still works though. Shift-control-D works. Trackpad > Lookup & data detectors setting changed, changed back, still not working. It’s kinda annoying as I am daily communicating in 2 languages. Any fix ideas?
- Message > Remove attachments sometimes works, sometimes not. In the same non-Apple email account there are emails where it works and some upon which the command is available but still doesn’t work. Works in Apple email accounts. All IMAP. Do senders have a way to prevent their attachments being deleted maybe?
Questions from item 2:
- Where do the deleted attachments go? I know where to find them when still there, look at it occasionally to make sure it’s not too full of junk and have a workflow to reduce the chance of it, but I have sometimes accidentally Removed Attachments and had to ask for them to be sent again, they don’t appear in the Trash Can.
- Also, I haven’t been able to find out a way to delete specific attachments, appears all or nothing. Maybe I need a plugin or modified workflow for this…
