I get a periodic large newsletter (LOTS of big photos, that’s the appeal). The Apple mechanism for sending large attachments (a link to iCloud) used to work, but for the last couple of months that stopped working, in that the link in the message in Mac OS Mail.app would not let me “click to download”
BUT I found a workaround: I opened the message’s raw source. In there I found an email header: Remote-Attachment-Url: https://cvws.icloud-content.com/B/Afn- (Rest of the URL NOT pasted here) Copying and pasting the complete URL allowed me to download the file.
Damned if I know why this no longer works. The sender is on iCloud using Mail.app, it’s sent to my iCloud email and I’m reading on Mail.app.
Add this to the GROWING LIST of “IT USED TO JUST WORK, BUT NOW DOESN’T WORK” stuff from Apple.
