Mac OS 26.3 Total System Freezes

Not that I have never had to do a forced reboot on a Mac before, but I notice that Google AI mode query seems to confirm that “it has been reported” that Tahoe might be causing total freezes due to a Spotlight glitch with background processes, or such, Is this a real thing?

I am not that savvy in diagnosis but Console reveals absolutely zero Crash logs, … ever on this system updated fairly recently. And hardly any relevant log with much of enlightening details or reference to a problem. I doubt that I would be able to decipher a sudo diagnose either/anyway. … Just seems weird that there is no Crash log ever … usually there is something… but maybe that’s a good thing that there haven’t been any background crashes … til lately

AI suggests a wholesale, of sorts, trashing of library caches while in Safe Mode …

Might this be the sort of thing that the app Cocktail would be useful for? … I have sort of stopped dabbling in all the third party system maintenance apps that used to be popular ten years ago

Thanks for your thoughts

Is your internal drive near full? I think Tahoe likes lots of room available. It would freeze or apps would or would fail to launch. I had to reboot 26.3 daily until I turned off having my Photos app always have masters downloaded which freed up 300 Gb on my MBPro. No issues since then.
