Apple issued Logic Pro 12.3 back in July with a cornucopia of enhancements and stability improvements for the professional audio app. The release updated the Beat Breaker feature with new filter and resonance modes, a panning mode that lets you pan left and right per slice, and randomization for all modes, while Alchemy now includes “formant Shifting” and a granular sync mode for granular synthesis. The update also resolved crashes (such as during drag animations, during Audio Unit scanning, and when holding Option-X), added an option to display Foreground Grid Lines so the grid is visible through region content, added a Randomize popover menu to Beat Breaker, and ensured Chord ID reliably identified chords on Intel-based Macs.
Version 12.3.1 was recently released to restore the ability to relocate beat mapping transients, ensure the right side of a crossfade can now be dragged and extended, make certain the Score responds correctly to Staff Style changes in the Inspector, and ensure the Channel Strip pinned to a track no longer corrupts the project. Logic Pro 12 is included with the Apple Creator Studio subscription ($12.99 per month or $129 per year) or can be purchased as a standalone app for $199.99.
