regarding your comments on the differing behavior of Command-R, are you aware of a recent comprehensive list of Apple Keyboard shortcuts/commands?
Apple has this, but I don’t know how comprehensive it is.
For ⌘-R related shortcuts, there is this list which appears to cover them all.
