My iPhone 17 max pro iOS (now at) 26.6 has never been able to maintain proper call history.
I have read more than 5 pages of Google Bot advisors
Here is my new approach.
Does anyone here have a 17 pro max on which call history is successfully maintained?
And if so, might you be able to relate the settings?
I have hard rebooted, toggled contacts off and on (saving contacts to iPhone in the process)
All cloud feature seem to be On with regard to phon, contacts messages and various things.
I have toggled back and forth and re-chosen Classic
I don’t really see the pertinence of how Turning on, or off Filtering relates.
All I know that at any given moment, the last call history is always a month prior.
Same setup as you. My settings are currently All (vs. Missed), and Classic with Calls checked and no filtering set up. I’ve never seen a problem like what you’re describing, sorry. If I understand you correctly, you seem to have a rolling 30 day most recent gap in your call history? I can’t imagine a setting that could cause that.
well, if it’s a hundred , it’s basically archiving the oldest 100 LOL it has its “rubric” backwards … but seriously not exactly I can see two outgoing calls for a contact from yesterday, and despite numerous calls the intervening month the next items go from July 14, heading backwards to older calls … I wish it could purge the old and keep the new
My work around is going to be training myself to do a back double tap each time an important call comes in and save the screen shot ..not that convenient during a pressing need
Most indicators when making queries on the issue say this is a temporaty iOS Software glitch, for me it a permanent one
My phone has correct time and date settings
Loads of capacity on the phone
Another explanation is iCloud sync bug across devices … well that’s over my head, and it is a permanent bug, then, with the devce phone 17 max pro.
For Screen Unknown Callers I believe the setting is a defautl as Never, but none of the listings under that series of settings relates to number I am needing.
I also just noticed that all archived calls are out going calls for the pertinent number
ok, here may be the whoops of it all
the number incoming in question is technically, well not technically … but Actually an 800 number I suppose this may have a highly relevant association on why incoming calls are not saved … but I don’t think it relates to a setting that I can glean in the Settings hmmm
nope, the only thing vaguely relevent is that I do have a list of blocked unknown numbers
I am begining to realize this has something to do with 800 numbers, even though the number is in my contacts,
I have a 15 Pro, but I don’t know why that would be different from a 17 Pro. My call list goes back to 2024 and has 244 entries. It’s not limited on my phone in any way that I can see.
I guess I would ask, as the deeper I look into my phone… whether anyone else has a
known contact with an 800 prefix that still logs the incoming calls from that number
Also, to note, there is a 4 page thread at Apple discussions Big flaw in call history in ios 26 version
while it didn’t really address my circumstance directly, there does seem to be some kerfuffle on the handling by call history with iOS 26
