Has anyone figured out a way to delete the Playground app?

This thing keeps reappearing on my iPhone 16/iOS27.0.1. Is there a way to kill it forever?

It showed up on my iPad Mini 7 and I just went to Edit Home Screen and selected the Delete App option. Perhaps you tapped the “Hide” option by mistake?

Tried to Delete it three times. Each time it came back, even after I turned off ALL system updates.

It hasn’t returned to my iPad Mini 7 as of 1 minute ago. And so far hasn’t appeared on my iPhone or other 2 iPads. ALL 4 iDevices are on 26.7.1

That might explain it. This is a new phone: I reluctantly retired my iPhone 7 after 8 years. At some point during the process of transferring info from that phone to the iPhone 16, which probably had iOS 26 on it, and which seemed to be taking quite a bit longer than expected, the new phone notified me that it had updated to iOS 27. So it obviously wasn’t honoring settings related to updates from the old phone. In iOS 27, Playground comes back relentlessly. I have “Automatically Install” turned on for System Files but everything turned off for iOS Updates. Maybe this bit of unwanted fluff is a “system file”.
