Disappearing Text Message

Two days ago I received a text message from a company with which I was conducting business. In fact, we were on the phone (landline) at the time. The text arrived on my iPhone and Mac. In the text was a link to a page with the updated services requested, a check box, and a submit box. After I submitted it the representative on the phone indicated they had received it.

So far, so good.

Today, I went back to the iPhone and the Mac to check something in the text message. It was not there. Not in Messages, Unknown Senders, Spam, or Recently Deleted.

Where could it be?

A paper copy of the transaction will be mailed to me so I haven’t lost anything but I am very curious.

If you are using iOS 26 or later and in Settings/Apps/Messages/Text Message Filter the “Text Message Filter” setting has a checkmark next to it, SMS and iMessage threads initiated by businesses are often automatically placed in the “Transactions” category.

Thanks for that information.
iOS 26. Settings/Apps/Messages/Text Message Filter setting is currently “None”.
