Apple has announced that its 2025 Worldwide Developer Conference will take place June 9 through June 13. It will again be free and entirely online, although Apple is also hosting a special event at Apple Park on the first day for some lucky developers who request to attend. Apple doesn’t say how attendees will be selected. Also on the schedule is the traditional Swift Student Challenge for budding developers.

WWDC 2025

It’s a safe bet that the WWDC keynote will feature or at least mention macOS 16, iOS 19, iPadOS 19, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, and visionOS 3. Last year, Apple used WWDC to unveil Apple Intelligence, which has proven largely underwhelming. Recently, the company quietly acknowledged that enhancements to Siri would be delayed (see “Apple Delays “More Personalized” Siri,” 7 March 2025). We’re not holding our collective breath, but it would be nice to see Apple refocus on making Siri dependable and functional rather than adding more unreliable features that we ultimately won’t use.

I don’t remember it being VVV DC in the past. Do you think that means anything? Or has it always been that way and my memory is simply being what it always is?

It was last year:

but not in 2023:

I assumed it was Sequoia related (macOS VVV ). If so, whoever came up with it should be congratulated.

This change was deliberate because the crowd had already started sacrilegiously referring to the event as World Wide Damage Control 2025.

Yeah, nothing new — I used a very similar graphic in last year’s post.

Good thing I have computers (and other people) to remember things for me! Thanks.

Considering this “collapsed” WW style began in a year that utilized the bird/swift symbol and phrase Coming in swiftly. Perhaps it is a very subtle stylization of the head and fore wings of a bird? Here’s an exaggerated rendition to clarify…

I’m guessing the Keynote will start at 10:00 A.M. PDT. I annotated my calendar.
