AquaEmacs - you don’t actually have to know emacs, just install, start it and use the menu Tools>Compare (ediff) >Two Directories
That will bring up dialog boxes to select the directories and do the compares; you have simple controls via arrow keys and simple commands to drill down and see the actual diffs between individual files and to filter out things that aren’t interesting.
If your intent is to sync the two folders I strongly recommend SyncTime. It is super-fast, lightweight, lives in the menu bar and has multiple adjustable settings. I use it to compare and automatically sync (for backup purposes) several folders that are nested several folders deep. It has worked flawlessly since the day I installed it.
I use DirEqual.
It has a very intuitive view of compared folders.
