TextExpander 8.4.5

Originally published at: TextExpander 8.4.5 - TidBITS

TextExpander has published TextExpander 8.4.5, an update to the text expansion utility that improves Inline Search. Now, when you press Enter on a recent item in the Inline Search, it expands it instead of opening the main window. The update also ensures that Inline Search remembers its window size and that Shift-Tab behaves correctly. Additionally, the release warns you when switching a snippet from rich text to plain text with an Undo link before formatting is dropped, restores the Return key for expanding a snippet from a fill-in pop-up menu, resolves a crash that could occur when opening a link from within the app, fixes snippets expanding twice in the Firefox Save As dialog, and addresses Quick Search shortcut keys not working when navigating to Recents. I’ve asked TextExpander to allow users to change the default from RTF to plain text. I write almost exclusively in Markdown format (plaintext) so whenever I use “new” in TextExpander I have to change it to plain text. Would be great if their update fixed this issue. (As it stands I create new snips by duplicating and editing prior ones).
