Shirt Pocket has published several updates to its SuperDuper backup app since updating to version 4 back in August (see “SuperDuper 4’s Radical New Interface Explains Itself as You Use It,” 3 August 2026). Most recently, version 4.0.7 implemented a workaround to ensure bootable copies show up in Startup Disk again, while version 4.0.8 made improvements to copying drives over slow network connections and provided better explanations when a connection failed. Version 4.0.9 fixes multiple issues that caused backups to NAS devices to fail, including when files or folders had names like AUX, CON, or NUL or with accented names (like Übersicht) when running macOS 27 Golden Gate. SuperDuper also now stops copies faster after an error, adjusts each job to remember which phase you opened (even after quit and relaunch), and adds a new Log SuperDuper Backup to Dashboard Shortcut.
