Rugged USB Stick Recommendations?

Glad to hear you experienced reliability with them. That was the intention behind the design as I recall, along with a bit of cool flair with a “unibody” frame, if you will. Do you feel the metal body also helped dissipate heat during use?

Has anyone seen a dual USB-A & -C stick that had both ends covered without use of detachable caps?
I have searched several times in various locations and for dual sticks it seems either one end is always exposed or there are easily lost caps.
Somewhere I have one that has a push and slide button so it’s either one side out or all protected. Samsung has one with a cap that doubles as an A to C adapter but it has been out of stock on my usual shopping haunts. Thanks!

Would that be the Samsung Duo Plus? I bought quite a few of those for my previous employer. They were extremely popular with the staff, though we did lose our share of the adapter caps. It no longer appears on their main page for flash drives, so I suspect they’ve discontinued the product.

Thanks @josehill yes that was the Samsung I was thinking of. Losing the adapter cap would be worse than losing just a plastic cap indeed.

I have a few SanDisk Ultra Drive Dual Go USB Type-C Flash Drive, which have a cover that flips to cover the USB-A or USB-C side. One is metal and fairly durable

I only used those flash drives for transport. Copy files to it in one location, and from it in another location. I never actively worked with files on the drive, so it never generated enough heat for me to detect.

This is the one I was thinking of. I have one or two around somewhere…
Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C

Last year I had a very disappointing customer service experience with SanDisk so am not inclined to buy from them again but so far this seems to be the only Flash Drive that can cover both ends without a cap. It may not have ‘rugged’ credentials though.

I use this one exclusively in various sizes. Love the USB-A and USB-C connectivity in one format.

just discovered the Lexar 64GB JumpDrive D300 USB Drive which is similar to the SanDisk. No mention of ruggedness though.
