This issue is what might force me to upgrade from Sonoma.
I have two laptops, one at the office running Tahoe, and one at home running Sonoma. I use iCloud Drive to share files between the computers.
I’m no longer able to open an iCloud Drive file in Numbers 14 and make edits that get saved. The edits are lost. The warning dialogues do not make this clear. I have to remember to drag the file to the Desktop, work on it there, then drag it back in order for the changes to be available on my other computer. This, despite the fact that the file in question is compatible with both versions of Numbers. Please note only one computer at a time is ever accessing a file.
I really do not like Tahoe. I’ll try upgrading the Sonoma computer to Sequoia in an effort to avoid Tahoe, since Numbers 15 is reputed to be compatible with Sequoia. I’ve never seen Sequoia so… whatever. And I have no interest whatsoever in the premium features or the AI stuff.
I’m running Numbers 14.4 on a Sequoia Mac and Numbers 14.4 on an iPadOS 18 iPad. I use either to open, edit, and save a Numbers document stored in iCloud Drive with no problem (that I have noticed).
You mention Numbers 15. Do you plan to install Numbers 15 after upgrading to Sequoia?
The only reason for me to upgrade to Numbers 15 is because of the loss of data when saving to the cloud.
I’ve hesitated to upgrade from Sonoma so far. While my venerable ScanSnap 1500 will even work on Tahoe, my favorite clipboard manager is the stumbling block. I’ll have to see if it works with Sequoia.
A glaring omission from Creator Studio has always been the ability to use Pixelmator Pro files in Final Cut Pro. Final Cut can still import Photoshop files, but not .pxd files, which are, after all, created by Creator Studio itself.

There is no way to do that. Apparently FCP 12.3 shipped too soon.

Someone revealed the secret for me. And it is a secret.
Apple’s FCP Help document makes it seem that this menu item appears right out-of-the box. It doesn’t. It requires at least three steps on the user’s part to create the menu item. But I now have it working.
