Odd things with second account

Did a load of reading and decided, like MANY, I’m going to migrate my user folder to an external drive.

I spent about a month last year on my M4 Pro Mac mini struggling to move my User folder to an external drive. I finally gave up and followed @shamino’s advice and moved individual sub folders instead of the entire User folder. Making even these seemingly innocuous changes lead to dead-ends and compromises.

Yes, putting Home on the internal is fine as long as the navigating to the data is transparent, i.e., clicking on the folders within Home automatically map to the data on the external drive. Ideally, I’d like to change all these standard folders at the root of Home into symlinks to a corresponding folder on the external drive: Desktop Documents Library Movies Music Pictures Public (The part of ~/Library that concerns me ~/Library/CloudStorage ) Is this possible?
