FYI, Costco is now listing the new model Macs on its web site. The items aren’t yet available for order (I assume that will change today or tomorrow), but the pricing is:
13" M5 MacBook Air ($50 discount from MSRP)
$1,050: 10/8 core 16 GB RAM, 512 GB storage
$1,250: 10/10 core 16 GB RAM, 1 TB storage
$1,450: 10/10 core 24 GB RAM, 1 TB storage
MacBook Neo ($10 discount from MSRP)
$590: 256 GB storage
$690: 512 GB storage
(A day later, you can order the M5 Air. I saw the Neo available in two of the four colors last night, but not now, so I assume they’re selling out as fast as they can get them.)
And for those who prefer not to do business with Costco, there’s refurb options straight from Apple. At this point they’re M4, but these nevertheless offer sweet discounts over M5.
13" M4 10/10, 16/512 for $859
13" M4 10/10, 16/1TB for $1019
[Edit: Thanks to @Shamino for pointing out silly typo!]

Nothing against Costco.
I, too, like the discounts from Apple’s online refurbished store.
As a veteran, I can get an additional discount from Apple by going to this page:
You’ll need to create an account with ID.me to verify your status as a veteran.
Once you log in with ID.me, you’ll be directed back to an Apple page (that looks like their regular ordering page) with discounts for veterans.
HOWEVER…
If you scroll down to the bottom, the “refurbished” link is still there.
Go to that, and the discounts are now “piggybacked” on one another.
I bought my 2024 m4 Mini from Apple refurbished using veterans access, and got just shy of a 25% discount off “new”…
My daughter recently purchased an MBA M4 from Costco that was cheaper than the same refurbished model from Apple. And AppleCare+ was cheaper there, as well.
