Red Sweater Software has issued MarsEdit 5.4.4 with a few improvements and bug fixes for the blogging app. The release now animates GIFs in the Upload Utility preview and prefers animated GIFs when both animated GIF and TIFF data are available during pasting an image. The update also fixes a bug that prevented some changed sidebar options, such as author and pingbacks, from being set correctly on new posts, resolves a crash when running macOS 27 Golden Gate, and addresses some memory over-usage issues.
