Red Sweater Software has published MarsEdit 5.4, a maintenance update primarily focused on bug fixes for the blogging app. The release ensures that standard macOS Versions now work as expected with the Revert to menu item, updates the Send to MarsEdit share extension to support sending text to MarsEdit, fixes a bug that removed images from Tumblr posts published with the Micro Post panel, addresses a couple syntax coloring bugs affecting Markdown in the plain text editor, resolves an issue that allowed styled text to be pasted into the Find & Replace text fields, and improves handling of WordPress permission errors when the blog is not English language. Version 5.4.1 was subsequently issued to fix a bug that caused edits to existing posts to publish as new posts.
