Jordi Bruin recently released MacWhisper 14.0 with a new Editor View that lets you edit your transcript directly. Along with significantly better editing performance, the AI-powered transcription app (see “Comparing Audio Transcription in Notes, Audio Hijack, and MacWhisper,” 28 February 2025) now lets you easily add new paragraphs, quickly reassign speakers, and favorite any part of the transcript. MacWhisper 14.1 added Gladia as a new cloud transcription provider and let you copy your ten most recent dications from the menu bar. Now, the just-released MacWhisper 14.2 adds a microphone picker to the menu bar for easier switching between microphones, improves transcription speed by loading the model while preparing the audio, makes cancelling a transcription while audio is being prepared more responsive, improves transcription loading states and progress labels, resolves an issue where Microsoft Teams recordings could be blank, fixes missing spaces when pasting copied transcripts into Pages and Microsoft Word, and addresses media exports sometimes using the wrong extension.
