LastPass vs. 1Password vs. Apple's Passwords app

Sequoia's Passwords app

A couple of weeks ago I updated to Sequoia and took the steps to export everything from 1Password to the Passwords app. I was somewhat dismayed at 1password going to a subscription and was keen to see how the Password app would compare. I did a ‘Quit 1Password completely’ and have relied on Password app ever since. So far it has been remarkably seamless. It probably took about an hour to sort out duplicate/old logins after the original import but it was probably overdue for a cleanup anyway. M…

I have never used LastPass but continue to be satisfied with the new Passwords app. Import from 1Password was straightforward and I’ve not launched 1PW since making the change.

My 1PW subscription came up in the past month and my previous employer paid it for another year as even though I’m retired, I still store account details for many of their logins. At this stage I think it’s wasted money but it’s comforting to have it ‘just in case’.
