??? I’ve never had a problem importing CDs into iTunes on my iMac. Of the approximate 6,500 songs in it, only a little over 800 were purchased from the iTunes Store. The rest are from CDs, LPs, and CTs.
I wasn’t suggesting that mixing purchased music and ripped music was a problem.
The article talks about the problem mixing an “all you can eat” style subscription with purchased or added items.

Ah, OK. iTunes and Apple Music are two different animals. I use iTunes 12.8.3.1 on my iMac with MacOS 10.13.6. I’ve heard enough horror stories about Apple Music that I’m glad it won’t run on my iMac.
