Running iOS 17.7. Now on restart or activate from Lock Screen, phone automatically has defaulted to Do Not Disturb. I turned off everything I could find, but this behavior continues. I must be missing a setting; can it really be that Apple has done this intentionally? I know they always “know better” than their users, but . . .
Look in Settings > Focus and make sure you don’t have some extra Focuses that would be causing this.
Unfortunately, I’ve been into that and cannot see where to turn focus off. Focus takes me to a DND screen. That screen and the sub-screens are a bunch of options of what to allow to get past DND. There’s no On or Off that I can see anywhere. Honestly, I cannot even understand what the choices are supposed to do. "Apple knows best” at its absolute worst, as far as I can tell.
You turn focus on and off from either control center or from Notification Center or the lock screen (a tap on the name of the focus on the bottom.) It’s a bit strange that you can’t change or turn of focus from Settings / Focus.
I cannot even do that. The DND is just on - always- I cannot turn it off.
I wonder then if you should call Apple support, or go to the Genius Bar, so they can help you figure out why tapping the focus icon in control center doesn’t allow you to turn it off.
Can’t open either link. It says, “ There has been a critical error on this website.”
@MyBlueSky has already posted that the TidBITS server is currently not working. FYI, it’s not working right now (21 Sept 24 7:43 CST US).
@janesprando @Nalarider Try again—it’s all fine now.
