Do not disturb seems to get the local time wrong

For several months our phones and watches have had “Do not disturb” set for 10pm to 6am. Recently (maybe after an OS upgrade) I noticed DND active during the middle of the day. The setting still shows 10pm to 6am but it seems the app has lost track of the local time (in Sydney, Australia). It is almost as though the app is confused by a time range that includes midnight.

For now we have both turned DND off so we don’t miss calls in the middle of the day.

Maybe check Settings / Focus / Do not disturb, scroll down to schedule, and see if smart activation is listed and turned on. It’s possible if it’s on that it’s being “smart” and turning on the focus. You can turn it off or delete it if it is there.

Thank you but I don’t see that “smart” option - maybe because I don’t use Siri AI.

I don’t use DND but have accidentally triggered it on the Mac with a click or key command I didn’t realize would invoke it, and have family members who are not so good with icons turn it on accidentally too.

Maybe there is similarly a motion/tap/spoken word/something on iPhone that could be turning it on by mistake?

Unlikely when it has happened on two iPhones with different users.
Before reporting a possible bug to Apple I thought I would post here to see if others have come across the issue.

I have DND set to turn on at 11 pm and turn off at 7 am every day. I have noticed that it is still on well into 8 and 9 o’clock. I don’t know why it doesn’t turn off but I wonder if it is related to the problem the OP is referencing. It has been going on now for a few months at least.
