I have a UGREEN ethernet adapter that I keep right next to my computer. Have used it numerous times with my MacBook Air 2025 with no problems. Save me many times lol.
I was called back by Apple Care, and they wanted a blow-by-blow account of how exactly I got into the situation where there was no WiFi icon on the Activate Mac screen.
Kevin from Apple Care said that it seems that I was running on a macOS 26.3.x version where this problem could occur, and now that I have updated to 26.4 I should not see this problem again.
