DEVONtechnologies has issued DEVONthink 3.9.9 with a super-sized list of improvements and bug fixes and an announcement—DEVONthink 4 is now in public beta. The new version will be packed full of features like support for generative AI models and versioning, and you can download the beta. In the meantime, version 3.9.9 adds support for .highland files (from the Highland screenwriting app; see “Highland Pro 3.0.1,” 17 March 2025), introduces a new two-digit year placeholder, improves WYSIWYG appearance in Markdown editing, expands compatibility of RSS feeds, better honors PDF permissions across the board (including in the Properties inspector), detects document dates and amounts more reliably, resolves an issue where Markdown documents with linked images could throw an exception, fixes a bug that caused PDF conversion in macOS 15 Sequoia to be unreliable, ensures that EPUB files are successfully converted to Web archives, and much, much more.
