If you live in the US and bought an iPhone from mid-2024 to early 2025 based on Apple’s promises surrounding Siri’s AI capabilities, it’s time to register for your payment in the Landsheft v. Apple class-action lawsuit settlement (see “Apple Settles “More Personalized” Siri Delay Lawsuit for $250 Million,” 18 May 2026). Those who bought an iPhone 15 Pro, an iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 model between 10 June 2024 and 29 March 2025 can submit a claim form to receive $25 per device, which may be increased up to $95 per device depending on the number of claims submitted. Claims must be submitted by 21 December 2026.

Unlike John Gruber—who had problems connecting payment accounts—it took me only a few minutes to fill out the form using the link provided in the email I received. I directed the payment to my PayPal account, but you can also choose Venmo, ACH, or a physical check.

Between whatever I get from Apple and the $37.42 I just received from the Oracle data privacy settlement, I’ll be rolling in the dough, just like all the law firms who negotiated these settlements. Well, apart from all the extra zeros in their payments.

I clicked on a link for this when it was first announced. It said I had to provide serial numbers for any/all covered phones. Since I have long traded up, how am I supposed to do that? Seems like it’s designed to limit participation …

I received the email from the settlement administrators. By using the claim number there, the relevant phone information was already filled in. Hopefully, you still have access to the email account where you registered the phone, and you can find that letter. If you’re a bit of a packrat, you should be able to find the invoice for the sales date and an AppleCare (or other insurance agreement) that shows the serial number.
