Apple settlement payment

Both my husband and I just received checks for $92.17 each as settlement for the Apple device performance litigation. I routinely fill out forms for class action suits that I qualify for, but this is the most money I have ever received. Usually you end up with 3 or 4 dollars. Anyone know how come the individual checks are so high? Did few people participate maybe?

I got a check this week for about $26 from some Apple class action suit.

I also got two $92 checks this week and was surprised by the amount. It’s good incentive to keep filling out those claims when they show up. Apple just bought me an All-Clad sauce pan!

Ditto here for $92.17. Received it today and it will go toward a 1TB SSD for my MacBook Air to replace the original that died.

If you want to read the settlement agreement, it is located here:

As for Joyce’s question about the number of participants, they only listed about 130 NAMED plaintiffs but neither I, Joyce, Dave, or Anthony are among them.

I also got a check for $26. The accompanying letter indicated that I had cashed the FIRST check (Don’t remember getting it, but maybe I did.), but there was money left over because people didn’t cash the first checks. So they sent out additional checks to those of us who supposedly cashed the first one.

(My check was for Replacement Device Lawsuit).

What part of the article lists the names of the plaintiffs? I want to see if my name was there.

Jane, I don’t remember as I just paged down until I saw the list. Be warned it is a 216 page document

Edit: I just went back and the list I found starts on page 156 of the PDF, but you’re not listed either.

Dennis, it looks like my check was for a different Apple Lawsuit —- but maybe they are the same???

This was a class action suit; you probably filed a claim back in 2020.

Yep, that’s it. I guess that means I can delete the PDF that says:

"YOUR CLAIM FORM HAS BEEN SUBMITTED SUCCESSFULLY.

Please print this page for your records."

Alan, thanks for the link to that article. At the bottom of that article I saw this link that talks about a $25 payout. It’s an article from 2020, but with some people getting $26, I wonder.
