I need to learn and play around with Google Docs so I can help as a volunteer “tech tutor” at the local library. My previous experience is with MS-Word.
So I’m wanting to know the “best” browser to use on my M1 Mac, with best meaning:
Isn’t Chrome or Edge, because Google and Microsoft install a slew of extra crap that I refuse to put on my Mac
works well with Google Docs (fewest anomalies or issues compared to using Google Chrome)
I don’t have an issue with Safari, either, but when I absolutely have to use a web browser with the Blink engine in it, I use Vivaldi, which is from the original developers of Opera. I know Brave is popular, but there’s always been a whiff of hucksterism about it to me, well-explored in an article from 2019 called “The cowardice of Brave”.
If I were facing a similar situation, I would check what browser is the default choice on the library’s computers that are available to the public (my local public library has desktops at carrels and laptops that can be checked out) and use that browser. That way I would be familiar with all aspects of what the people I am helping will encounter.
