Do the experts here recommend using DetectX on an ongoing basis?
I went many years without using any “anti-virus” software but then started using ClamXAV about a year ago and then DetectX for this specific problem when always seeing “searchpulse” in the search window.

There’s really no downside to using DetectX Swift at the moment. It’s free (although v2.0 will be a paid upgrade). Doesn’t run any kernel extension or background activity. You just need to remember to run it when you see something weird going on or periodically if desired.
