Viewing secure video in iCloud

I have set up a camera in my summer house in order to get a video if someone breaks in. I use a camera that saves to iCloud via Apple HomeKit Secure video so that I can view the thief if he breaks in.

However, if the thief steals all my Apple HomeKit gear, I can no longer get hold of the video through Home on my devices, and I cannot find the video when I log into iCloud.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

I would really appreciate some help.

What brand of cameras are you using? Do they have a hub where the recording resides? Do they have a setting for iCloud? They would usually be on the iCloud Drive, but they may also have their own Cloud storage and you have to sign in to their account (by web or device) to access it.

The cameras only store their data in iCloud. You can see more here:

As long they are connected to internet, I can view their recorded data via Home on my devices, but when they loose connection I don’t any way to view the data although it should be there somewhere as it is preserved for something like 10 days.

Very interesting. I just disconnected one of my remote cameras, a Logitech Circle View (I have it connected to a smart plug because it keeps disconnecting on its own🙄) and I can see the history when I tap it in the home app. (See the bottom, where the history timeline is).

I have another Logitech Circle camera, the Circle 2, which I never converted to HomeKit Secure Video, so it doesn’t show history in the home app anyway.

 That is the way I would like it to be. I need to investigate this further.
