URL Manager Pro 5.0

Updates the venerable bookmark manager for macOS 10.15 Catalina. ($35.00 new, $25 upgrade, 8.7 MB)

It’s crazy to me that this app has been around since 1996 and I’ve never heard of it before (that I can remember). I got my first Mac in 2004.

I wonder how many other cool Mac utilities are out there that I don’t know about…

Fairly sure I paid for an earlier version of this. He also wrote Web Confidential which was useful. Later I moved to Splash ID, And then to 1Password.

I also was surprised it was still being worked on. If I’m not mistaken i first used it in the pre-OS X era.

How does 1Password replicate what this app does?
Just interested.

Too bad there isn’t a standard export/import format for web browsers like vCard for address books.

Url Manager Pro has finally irritated me terminally, and after years of paying for upgrades I’m going to give this one a miss. The app has never allowed “Import from Browser” from Firefox; instead the author recommends the plain “Import” which results in an unusable, inaccurate mess. So if you use Firefox, don’t buy Url Manager.

Interesting comment. I don’t use the built-in bookmarks in the browsers, but have URLMP be the keeper of all the bookmarks, not matter what browser I’m using. Whenever I got to a site I want to keep, I just use the “add bookmark” function (or shortcut command-K) and it saves it just fine.
Sorry it doesn’t work for you, but I for one am glad that Alco Blom built a 64-bit version.

There is no relationship between the two.

How does 1Password replicate what this app does? 1P doesn’t manage URL’s, AFAICT.

I was comparing with web confidential.
